Trust-based working hours/Management by Objectives

Sachtleben's corporate guidelines define our new thinking and form the basis for our personnel development. We promote ideas, independent initiative, knowledge and willingness to accept responsibility in our staff in many, diverse ways. The trust-based working hours was implemented for all members of staff on January 1, 1999. This no-checks concept makes it easier to reconcile career, family and leisure. The project is founded on a comprehensive culture of trust, which creates flexibility for our staff and at the same time guarantees the most perfect and rapid possible performance of the tasks in hand and optimizes contacts with customers throughout the world. Our so-called Management by Objectives scheme presupposes a high level of competence and teamwork capability, offers intensive identification with the task, and creates totally new opportunities for job satisfaction.

Learning-Workshop Sachtleben – Progressing into the future

Because enterprises will be able to succeed on the markets of the future only with highly qualified staff, Sachtleben implemented a practically oriented program of further training in Summer, 1999: The Sachtleben Learning-Workshop. The objective here is the encouragement and motivation of our staff in line with their respective individual capabilities and our entrepreneurial challenges. We are firmly convinced that the motivation and competence of our staff are the key factors in our future success. Learning-Workshop Sachtleben makes the most effective use possible of our staff's commitment. The central concept of the project is that of learning from practice for practice. Which means: Colleagues learn from colleagues, and external lecturers are invited in order to provide a formal back-up. The broad and diverse further-training program of the Sachtleben Learning-Workshop, which focuses on the technical knowledge, personality and social capability of our staff, is the guarantee of the effectiveness of this project.

The acceptance for internal further education is great. Every year more than 2,000 participants share the courses of the Sachtleben learning workshop. 80 dedicated and highly motivated internal lecturers offer approx. 100 different courses from most different topic areas. Since 2004 the Sachtleben learning workshop offers beside its well established standard courses also job specific further education. This project helps to update the knowledge of the staff occupation groups regularly as well as it tries to connect the new knowledges with former acquired basic principles. The first job profiles for this new program, are marketing, industrial mechanics and laboratory employees.
